Andrew Lincoln Does NOT Want “Walking Dead” Character Killed Off, Despite Report

written by Melanie Jo September 12, 2015

GOSSIPCOP.COM – Andrew Lincoln is not asking producers of “The Walking Dead” to kill off his character, despite a ridiculous new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the rumor. We’re told there’s not truth to the story.

The British-born Lincoln lives with his wife and two kids in England, but the AMC zombie series shoots in Georgia. And so, according to OK!, Lincoln is “tired of dragging” his family overseas to be with him while he works. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid the actor is “planning his exit” from the popular show, and has already let executives know that he wants out after the next season ends.

Lincoln plays lead character Deputy Rick Grimes on the horror-drama. And while the series has been known to stray from its source material in the past, Grimes stays alive and well in the graphic novel on which the show is based. Regardless, Lincoln is not trying to quit the immensely popular series and give up the best role of his career to date. The English actor, who prior to “The Walking Dead” played mostly supporting roles in smaller projects, has been propelled to stardom thanks to the AMC series.

Don’t expect to see Grimes eaten by zombies anytime soon. Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Lincoln, who tells us that there’s “no truth” to the tabloid’s story about him wanting to leave the show. The sixth season of “The Walking Dead” premieres on October 11.
